UNBOUND AQ Workshop Series Broadens the Use of NASA Air Quality Data

Understanding Needs to Broaden Outside Use of NASA Data for Air Quality (UNBOUND AQ) is a multi-session workshop in Feb and Mar to identify how to make NASA air quality data products more discoverable and usable. Register by Feb 3.

The Understanding Needs to Broaden Outside Use of NASA Data for Air Quality (UNBOUND AQ) workshop aims to engage air quality data practitioners who are not currently using NASA data products or are not regular users of NASA data. The workshop is a collaboration of NASA's Earth Science Data Systems (ESDS) Program and Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP), and takes place in February and March 2023. The workshop registration deadline is February 3.

The workshop consists of three sessions starting in late February. Between workshop sessions, participants are expected to conduct an analyses or evaluation on NASA data of interest and report back. Participants must be prepared to evaluate NASA data products in actual analyses and make specific recommendations for removing barriers to data use in terms of data-centric issues such as format, data size, sub-setting, and discoverability.

The ESDS UNBOUND project is designed around a series of coordinated domain-specific workshops that match analysis and visualization practitioners in target communities with NASA data scientists and others knowledgeable in the field. This collaboration helps define barriers to using these data and provides a roadmap for making these data more broadly usable in communities outside of the NASA research community.
