U.S. State, Tribe, and Territory Workers: We Need Your Feedback

Take a brief survey to help NASA serve you better as users (or potential users) of Earth observation data for decision-making.
Help NASA advance the distribution and use of its popular and valuable Earth observation (EO) data. The agency is currently conducting an anonymous survey of user groups in U.S. States, Tribal organizations, and territories to get feedback about their experiences accessing and using EO data. EO data provide insights about nearly every aspect of Earth’s systems, from soil moisture and water resources to wildfire tracking. Understanding how communities currently access and employ EO data is critical to NASA’s mission of ensuring it is free and open for everyone to use.

Topics the survey explores include:

  • Who uses EO data within States, Tribal organizations, and territories
  • Their purposes for using the data
  • How these data factor into their decision making today
  • Any discoverability, accessibility, or usability issues audiences encounter with these data, and
  • Any other existing challenges or gaps associated with these data

NASA will analyze the results of the survey to discern if there are issues in obtaining and working with EO data that can be addressed and identify areas where users need more support to make informed decisions benefiting their communities. Together, these priorities will enhance the EO data user experience to make it better than ever.

The survey is open now through December 31, 2024.
