This brightness temperature image of Super Typhoon Yagi approaching Hong Kong and southern China was captured on September 5, 2024, by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument aboard the joint NASA/NOAA NOAA-21 satellite. This area is set to experience one of the strongest typhoons in a decade. The storm currently is equivalent to a Category 4 hurricane.
