The Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) announced the release of AppEEARS Version 3.63, featuring a significant upgrade to GDAL 3.9. This major version jump brings enhanced capabilities, but also introduces a notable change in handling area requests. With GDAL 3.9, some results may not include every pixel intersecting with the polygon boundary, affecting only peripheral pixels. AppEEARS offers a simple and efficient way to perform data access and transformation processes by enabling users to download only the data they need. AppEEARS provides access to a wide range of geospatial data from multiple federal archives, including ECOsystem Spaceborne Thermal Radiometer Experiment on Space Station (ECOSTRESS), the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission, Daymet gridded weather parameters, Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) Global Digital Elevation Model (GDEM) Version 3, and population information from the Gridded Population of the World (GPW) collection.
