Image of the Tibesti Mountains in northern Chad, acquired on 4 January 2016 by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor aboard the Aqua satellite. This mountain range includes the highest mountain in Chad, the Emi Koussi in the south, and the central third of the range is of volcanic origin.
