Image of the Dead Sea acquired on 29 November 2015 by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor aboard the Aqua satellite. The Dead Sea is one of the world's saltiest bodies of water. The southern portion of the sea is fed by a canal that is comprised of mineral evaporation ponds.
