Dr. Franz Meyer, the chief scientist for the Alaska Satellite Facility (ASF), has been recognized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his significant contributions to education and outreach in geosciences and remote sensing. He received the Education Award at the annual meeting of the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, which was recently held in Athens, Greece.
