In this webinar, you will learn how to use NASA’s Worldview, an imagery mapping and visualization tool that provides access to over 900 data imagery layers, many of which are available within hours, even minutes, to explore Earth’s interconnected processes and events. Worldview has been used for time-critical applications such as wildfire monitoring and management, supporting science through easy-to-access satellite imagery archives, illustrating disasters and natural events in the media, and for education and outreach.

We will highlight the features and functionality of Worldview with demonstrations of how it can be used for a variety of use cases, and spotlighting new features and improvements added over the past few years. Many of these were made to support new imagery/data types like higher resolution, 30-meter imagery from the Harmonized Landsat Sentinel-2 (HLS) Project, geostationary imagery which are available every ten minutes from GOES-East, GOES-West, and Himawari-8, and “interactive” data like MODIS and VIIRS Fires and Thermal Anomalies. Other improvements bolstered existing capabilities of Worldview making it a more robust application, such as the ability to download underlying data via the Earthdata Search tool. This webinar will also highlight planned enhancements on the horizon.
