NASA's Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC) has created a new Level 2 data subsetting service for satellite data. This new subsetter is available for most Level 2 data products from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI). The initial release of the subsetter provides the following capabilities: Selection of specific variables within a file; Specification of a latitude-longitude box; Subsetted variables output as cropped boxes; Index variables generated for each of the subset dimensions; Dimensional subsetting; Temporal subsetting; and Preservation of original file structure, metadata, dimensions, data types, and attributes.

The webinar will provide participants with an overview of the key features and functionalities of this subsetter and will take participants through a step-by-step explanation of how to use this tool with NASA's OMI ozone data. OMI data can be used to monitor ozone concentrations at different levels of the atmosphere, the effects of volcanic activity on the atmosphere, and wildfire emissions.
