The fourth webinar in the Gregory G. Leptoukh Online Giovanni Workshop series, “Enhancing Knowledge with Giovanni,” will take place on July 24, 2019. Each of the four webinars will describe how the Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC) Interactive Online Visualization and Analysis Infrastructure (Giovanni) can be used in different ways to enhance scientific knowledge. Previous webinars took place on June 26, July 10, and July 17.

On June 26, Dr. Mark Jury will describe the integration of Giovanni with a variety of other data types for research science. On July 10, Sean McCartney and Dr. Amita Mehta of NASA’s Applied Remote Sensing Training (ARSET) Program will show how Giovanni is used in their series of training workshops for professional audiences. On July 17, Dr. James Acker of GES DISC will review the current state of Giovanni, provide a glimpse of Giovanni’s future, and demonstrate how Giovanni enhances visual knowledge of NASA’s Earth science data by presenting the next set of images selected for the Giovanni Image Hall of Fame. Dr. Guido Cervone will conclude the workshop with a presentation on how he uses Giovanni and the statistical analysis package R in an undergraduate remote sensing class at Pennsylvania State University.
