The Collection Progress element of the dataset lifecycle in the Common Metadata Repository (CMR) describes the production status of the dataset with a controlled vocabulary.
There are seven possible choices for describing the status of the dataset:
Planned
The "Planned" Collection Progress element refers to datasets to be collected in the future and are unavailable at the present time.
Active
The "Active" Collection Progress element refers to datasets currently in production or data that is continuously being collected or updated.
Complete
Complete is designated for datasets where no updates or further data collection will be made.
Preprint
Preprint refers to datasets which are made available prior to completion of validation and review processes to support manuscript publication processes and open science.
In Review
In Review refers to datasets made available to support science team final review. In Review datasets are provisional and should not be used for production applications.
Superseded
Superseded datasets remain publicly available, but for which a newer version is available.
Deprecated
Deprecated data products have been retired but are still discoverable for historical purposes.
