Join experts from artificial intelligence (AI), geospatial science, climate, weather, and Earth observation communities from across the globe in this in-person workshop hosted by NASA and ESA (European Space Agency). The workshop will focus on foundation models (FMs), which present enormous opportunity in the field of data science, including enhancing the analytical and predictive capabilities of geospatial applications. Yet there are many challenges to applying FMs to Earth science data that need to be worked through before integrating FMs into the Earth Observation and Earth Sciences ecosystems.

The goal of the workshop is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, share the latest research and technological advancements, and discuss practical solutions for using FMs to advance our understanding of Earth's systems and enhance global environmental monitoring and response efforts.
