True-color corrected reflectance image of blowing dust and salt in Namibia on July 11, 2023. This image was acquired by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) aboard the joint NASA/NOAA Suomi NPP satellite. In this image, dust can be seen in light brown blowing off the coast of Namibia. In northern Namibia, whitish salt can be seen blowing from the Etosha Pan. Further inland, in Botswana, grayish-white smoke can also be seen emanating from fires. Visit Worldview to see an animation, spanning July 10 to 13, of the blowing dust and salt.
