Aircraft-Derived Imagery of the Yukon River

This image shows a 1-meter resolution surface water mask (blue) overlaid on blended satellite images of wetlands along the Yukon River near Ft. Yukon, AK. The mask was derived by automated detection methods of orthomosaics collected by a color-infrared camera mounted to a NASA B200 King Air.

ABoVE Image Products at ORNL DAAC

Over 3000 km2 of open surface water were mapped from AirSWOT flight lines made in summer 2017 for the Arctic-Boreal Vulnerability Experiment (ABoVE). Automated detection of surface waters supports interpretation of coincident ABoVE image products and offers the potential for multi-sensor analysis.

NASA's data policy ensures that all NASA data are available fully, openly, and without restrictions. Here's what this means to you.
