Image of lakes in Tibet acquired on 23 November 2015 by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor aboard the Terra satellite. Many of the lakes vary in color due to the differences in depth, presence of sediment, mineral content, and microscopic organisms.
