Image showing the Kincade Fire in northern California, acquired on 27 October 2019 by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Instrument, aboard the joint NASA/NOAA Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) satellite. Red dots overlaid on the image are thermal anomalies/hotspots detected by the VIIRS thermal anomalies algorithm. They represent the center of a 375m pixel flagged as containing one or more thermal anomalies.
