A new Combined Aqua and Terra MODIS Cloud Properties product is available at NASA's Level-1 and Atmosphere Archive and Distribution System Distributed Active Archive Center (LAADS DAAC) for both daily and monthly datasets. This product is part of the combined Aqua and Terra MODIS Cloud Feedback Model Intercomparison Project Observation Simulator (COSP) Package and can help inform future assessments of cloud feedbacks through improved understanding of cloud-climate feedback mechanisms and better evaluation of cloud processes and cloud feedbacks in climate models. This collection results from a reprocessing effort in 2022 to correct a code bug that was discovered in mid-2021 in the combined Aqua and Terra MODIS Cloud Feedback Model Intercomparison Project Observation Simulator Package software, which caused a significant problem in the low, middle, and high aggregations of Cloud Fraction (from Cloud Mask).

Users who had previously acquired the version 6.1 MCD06COSP collection data files should obtain the new, corrected v6.2 MCD06COSP daily and monthly collection data files with 2022 (or later) production dates from the LAADS DAAC. The version 6.1 MCD06COSP daily and monthly collections will remain available until November 30, 2022, and are marked for decommissioning following that date.
