SeaDAS is a comprehensive software package for the processing, visualization, analysis, and quality control of ocean color and other relevant satellite remote sensing Earth science data available through NASA's OB.DAAC. The SeaDAS software consists of two primary parts: the SeaDAS Desktop Application, which is mostly for image visualization and analysis, and the SeaDAS-Toolbox, which contains the SeaDAS scientific processors along with a GUI interface.

It has been difficult to effectively employ SeaDAS with the scientific processing capabilities on Windows PCs since these processors can only be installed on Linux or MacOS (Intel) platforms. The solution was a client-server approach, which allowed the physical decoupling of the SeaDAS-Toolbox and the scientific processing package. Docker Image capabilities have been introduced to the most recent version of SeaDAS to facilitate the scientific processing package distribution and configuration.

In this webinar, we will present an overview of the SeaDAS data application, key features and functionalities, the technological stack it employs, its intended applications, and an introduction to and the advantages of Docker in SeaDAS distribution. We will show participants how to install SeaDAS with Docker at the conclusion of the webinar.
