MERLIN C-G
Mesoscale Eastern Range Lightning Information Network Cloud to Ground
The Cape Mesoscale Eastern Range Lightning Information Network (MERLIN) uses Very High Frequency (VHF) interferometry to detect and locate cloud-to-ground (C-G) lightning over and near the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and NASA's Kennedy Space Center. MERLIN ensures the safety of personnel and assets for launches and launch operations. The configured system includes 10 Total Lightning Sensor (TLS)-200 sensors. These data are publicly available in ASCII format.
Access the data through the Kennedy Space Center Spaceport Weather Archive.
