As of Thursday, Jan 16, 2025, NASA's Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring Pollution (TEMPO) instrument has started to do special scans over the wildfires in Southern California. Instead of hourly scans of North America (NA) during daylight hours, the new/current scan pattern is 1 hourly scan of NA followed by 6 shorter (10 min) scans of the West Coast (WC). This cycle will repeat until sunset on the west coast.

This special scan pattern will continue through Sunday, January 19.
