Content from all Earth science data sites are migrating into this site from now until end of 2026. Not all NASA Earth science data will appear across the site until then. Thank you for your patience as we make this transition.

ESDIS Weekly Metrics: January 14, 2021
![EOSDIS Metrics 1-14-21](https://earthdata.nasa.gov/s3fs-public/styles/hds_large/public/imported/1-14-21_eosdis_metrics.jpg?VersionId=jqOYy4sziLPHgER4dNbEfByG3vQ_Qmm1&itok=6G-wtJiL)
Note:
1. The volume distributed to end users per day, as a running average over the last 4 weeks, is ~ 3.5 times the volume added to the archive per day.
2. Higher distribution data volume from January 05-07, 2021 is primarily due to distribution of SENTINEL-1A/1B data by ASF DAAC and MODIS and VIIRS data by LAADS DAAC.
LANCE Data Latency
![LANCE Metrics 1 1-14-21](https://earthdata.nasa.gov/s3fs-public/styles/hds_large/public/imported/lance_metrics_1_1-14-21.jpg?VersionId=ESnduWFzJriSJveBAkFy34RCdj6pDuSW&itok=f-tjtnhe)
Note:
- Higher product latencies for
- MODIS-TERRA on January 04, 2021 and MODIS-AQUA on January 08, 2021 are due to issues with input data at MODAPSNRT
- VIIRS-SNPP (Atmosphere) on January 04, 2021 are due to issues with L0 data that were received by ASIPSNRT.
![LANCE Metrics 2 1-14-21](https://earthdata.nasa.gov/s3fs-public/styles/hds_large/public/imported/lance_metrics_2_1-14-21.jpg?VersionId=VkBDIx2xEZvcDenuJdJdT.aNzJQ6rbAR&itok=pgG7GP-w)
Note:
- Latency for a data granule is defined as the time taken from the midpoint between the start and end of acquisition of the data for that granule to the granule’s being ready on-line for users to download.
- Duration covered by the data for a granule is defined differently for different instruments (e.g., MODIS granules are 5 minutes long while OMI NRT granules are 13 to 136 minutes long).
- Over the last four weeks, over 95% of NRT data requests for all instruments except for three instruments (OMPS-SNPP, VIIRS-SNPP (Land) and VIIRS-SNPP (Atmosphere)) were satisfied within 3 hours. For OMPS-SNPP, VIIRS-SNPP (Land) and VIIRS-SNPP (Atmosphere) over 93%, 73% and 91% of the NRT data requests were satisfied within 3 hours, respectively.
Metrics from previous weeks are organized by week, and users can access the ESDIS Weekly Metrics Archive.
