The Toolsets for Airborne Data (TAD), developed by the Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC) Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC), is designed to meet the user community needs for analyzing aircraft data for scientific research on climate change and air quality relevant issues. Given the number of data variables across various field campaigns and instruments reporting data on different time scales, this data is often difficult and time-intensive for researchers to analyze.

Join us during this webinar to learn how the TAD web application provides an intuitive user interface (UI) to facilitate quick and efficient airborne data discovery from a vast number of airborne variables. Multiple filtering capabilities are available including: search based on high-level parameter groups, mission and platform, as well as flight date ranges. In addition, users also have the ability to search variable names across campaigns according to the nature of measurement or chemical structures. Advanced global search capabilities are also available for experienced users.

The current TAD data holdings consist of 8 NASA and NOAA field campaigns: INTEX-NA (2004), NEAQS-ITCT 2004, INTEX-B/MILAGRO (2006), TexAQS2006, ARCTAS (2008), ARCPAC (2008), CalNEX (2010), and DISCOVER-AQ Maryland (2011). Newer campaigns, including DC3 (2012), DISCOVER-AQ Colorado/Texas/California (2013, 2014), and SEAC4RS (2013), will be integrated as the data becomes available for distribution at the ASDC DAAC.
