The OMI instrument experienced another anomaly last Friday that put the instrument in safe mode (the instrument was on but not taking measurements). The problem has been fixed and OMI has resumed taking measurements. If all goes well we start sending out data this Friday.

The OMI instrument has been successfully turned on. It is expected to begin science measurements today. After the instrument and data have been checked, we hope to resume production and distribution of OMI data late next week.

The OMI went into survival mode over the weekend on Sunday, May 29. The last full orbit of data was orbit 63150. Starting with orbit 63151, we expect no measurements until the instrument is operating normally again. The instrument and flight engineering teams in the US and Netherlands are working to figure out what happened and return to normal operations.
