First Release of Instrument Data from NASA's SMAP Mission
SMAP combines coincident L-band radar and radiometer measurements to produce global, high-resolution soil moisture estimates.

NASA's National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) has announced the first release of instrument data from the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission. The beta version of Level-1 radiometer data from the SMAP mission is now available at NSIDC DAAC.

In addition, the beta version of Level-1 radar data is now available at NASA's Alaska Satellite Facility (ASF DAAC).
