The theme for this year's 3rd Online Giovanni Workshop is 'Using Giovanni for Geoscience Education'. The 3rd Gregory G. Leptoukh Online Giovanni Workshop will take place November 15-17, 2016. Presentations given on the first day of the workshop (Tuesday, November 15) will address undergraduate oceanographic education, regional applications, and high school teacher usage of GES-DISC Interactive Online Visualization and Analysis Infrastructure (Giovanni).

On the second day of the workshop (Wednesday, November 16), the focus shifts to atmospheric science, precipitation, and hydrology. Finally, on the last day of the workshop, Thursday, November 17, the current status and future plans for Giovanni will be described, followed by a presentation on the update and revamp of the popular NASA Earth Observations (NEO) tool, and potential parallel usage of NEO and Giovanni. The Town Hall on the afternoon of the final day will be a discussion of what geoscience educators would add to Giovanni to make it an even more useful educational resource.
