ASDC

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) project and NASA's Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC) announce the release of new versions of the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) Level 2 (L2) Aerosol Product, the MISR L2 Land Surface Product, and the Level 3 (L3) Component Global Aerosol and Land Surface Products.

GHRC DAAC

NASA's Global Hydrology Resource Center (GHRC) Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) published the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Ground Validation CAX1 Radar ODIM format Olympic Mountains Experiment (OLYMPEX) dataset. This dataset consists of radar parameters, such as Radar reflectivity, Doppler velocity, Doppler width, Differential reflectivity, Differential phase, Differential phase shift, Correlation coefficient, and Signal Quality Index, provided on a 0.4 to 1.0 km spatial resolution within the OLYMPEX field campaign study region in state of Washington. These data are available from November 14, 2015 through April 1, 2016 and were collected by the dual polarization X-band “CAX1” portable scanning radar which was located at the southern tip of Vancouver Island on the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt Albert Head (AHD) military training area. These data are available in ODIM HDF-5 format, and have corresponding browse imagery in PNG format.

NSIDC DAAC

NASA's National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) DAAC has published a change to data access for the Making Earth Science Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Antarctic Boundaries for IPY 2007-2009 from Satellite Radar, Version 2. Data access is now solely through our primary archive at: https://n5eil01u.ecs.nsidc.org/MEASURES/NSIDC-0709.002/. File level spatial and temporal metadata have been added to aid in searching and ordering the data through Earthdata Search.

ORNL DAAC

NASA's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) DAAC published the Arctic-Boreal Vulnerability Experiment Dataset ABoVE: AVHRR-Derived Forest Fire Burned Area-Hot Spots, Alaska and Canada, 1989-2000. This dataset provides annual forest fire burned area and daily hotspot products developed using data acquired from the Advanced Very-High-Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) instruments carried aboard two NOAA polar-orbiting satellites (NOAA-11 and NOAA-14). The fire products were generated over 12 fire seasons (1st May - 31st October) from 1989-2000 at 1-km resolution and subset to the ABoVE spatial domain of Alaska and Canada.

The ORNL DAAC published a revised version of the Southern African Regional Science Initiative Project dataset SAFARI 2000 MODIS Airborne Simulator Data, Southern Africa, Dry Season 2000. This dataset contains the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Airborne Simulator (MAS) multispectral data collected during the SAFARI 2000 project. The flights were undertaken over Southern Africa by the NASA ER-2 aircraft during August and September, 2000.
