NASA’s Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) acquires, processes, and distributes thousands of Earth science data products and supports many associated services which are used in research and daily decision-making. Data are collected by a variety of sensors, utilize differing spatial and temporal resolutions, and encompass the entirety of the Earth system: atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, and biosphere.
To enable effective and efficient data access and use, EOSDIS has developed a suite of robust and reliable tools and services for users to discover, transform, visualize, and reformat the data.
- Data Tools—tools that provide specific search functionality, subsetting and filtering, data handling, reprojection and mapping, and visualization and analysis
- Data Recipes—tutorials and how-tos for accessing and transforming data, as well as step-by-step guides for accessing and downloading data via multiple programming languages
- Data Pathfinders—guided pathways to help users find and use commonly-used datasets and tools
- Earthdata Webinars—recorded webinars and short videos about accessing and using specific datasets and tools
Read the EOSDIS Data Use Policy to understand access to products downloaded from our collection. When referencing NASA data in a publication, the proper citation should be used according to whichever style has been established by the publication. For more information, see How to Cite our Data.
