2008 Reuse Peer-Education Award Recipient: Robert Downs

Dr. Downs is one of the most active Support Team members in the NASA Earth Science Data Systems (ESDS) Software Reuse Working Group (WG), contributing to all activities and providing special emphasis on education and public outreach. He has co-authored a number of papers, posters, and other documents to help educate and guide members of the community to successful reuse efforts. His activities include contributing to the studies and documentation of a proposed Reuse Enablement System, co-authoring the Bottom-Up Reuse Guildelines: Intellectual Property, contributing to the development of draft Reuse Readiness Levels, and helping to design, develop, and maintain the WG's portal web site. Dr. Downs continues to actively participate in all of the WG's activities, and his valuable input enables the WG to improve its activities and work products.
