EOSDIS Science Data Metrics
Notes:
- The volume distributed to end users per day, as a running average over the last 4 weeks, is 2.399 times the volume added to the archive per day.
LANCE Data Latency
Note:
1. Higher product latencies for:
- OMPS-SNPP on Oct 22, 2023, due to a delay in receiving data from EDOS.
- VIIRS- JPSS1 (Land) and VIIRS- SNPP (Land) on Oct 29-Nov 4, 2023, due to a delay in receiving data then a delay in processing.
- AMSR2-GCOM-W1 on Oct 31, 2023, due to a delay in receiving data from JAXA.
- MODIS AQUA and MODIS TERRA on Nov 1, 2023, issue prevented import of L0.
- OMPS-SNPP on Nov 1-2, 2023. Update will be provided next week.
- VIIRS-SNPP (Atmosphere), on Nov 3, due to a power outage.
2. No LIS-ISS reported in the plot due to an error in our metrics system.
Note:
- Latency for a data granule is defined as the time taken from the midpoint between the start and end of acquisition of the data for that granule to the granule’s being ready on-line for users to download.
- Duration covered by the data for a granule is defined differently for different instruments (e.g., MODIS granules are 5 minutes long while OMI NRT granules are 13 to 136 minutes long).
- Over the last four weeks, over 95% of NRT data requests for all instruments except for six instruments (MODIS-AQUA, OMPS-SNPP, VIIRS-JPSS1 (Land), VIIRS-SNPP (Land), VIIRS-JPSS1 (Atmosphere), and VIIRS-SNPP (Atmosphere)) were satisfied within 3 hours. For OMPS-SNPP, VIIRS-JPSS1 (Land), VIIRS-SNPP (Land), VIIRS-JPSS1 (Atmosphere), and VIIRS-SNPP (Atmosphere), over 94%, 93%, 31%, 18%, 79% and 88% of the NRT data requests were satisfied within 3 hours respectively.
